From your first appointment to long-term aftercare — here’s what to expect at Alameda Dental.
Your First Visit
We’ll review your health history, take any X-rays you need, complete a full exam, and talk through a plan tailored to your goals — no pressure, no surprises. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can get your paperwork squared away.
What to Bring
- A valid photo ID
- Your dental insurance card (if applicable)
- A list of current medications
- Any recent dental X-rays or records from your previous dentist
- Completed new patient forms (available at our office or by request)
Insurance & Payment
Alameda Dentalaccepts most major PPO plans and files your claims for you — our team verifies your benefits before your visit. We also offer flexible financing for larger treatment plans, including 0% options for qualified patients. Not sure about your plan? Call (303) 343-7072.
Aftercare
Your doctor’s written, post-procedure instructions are the most important step in a smooth recovery and supersede anything here. General guidance:
- After fillings or crowns: avoid hot or hard foods on the treated side for the first 24 hours. Mild sensitivity for a few days is normal.
- After extractions: bite gently on gauze for 30–45 minutes, and avoid straws, spitting, and smoking for 24 hours to protect the blood clot.
- After a root canal: mild tenderness is normal. Take any prescribed antibiotics as directed and avoid chewing on the tooth until your final crown is placed.
- After whitening: avoid staining foods and drinks (coffee, tea, red wine, berries) for 24–48 hours.
- Dental emergencies: report severe pain, uncontrolled bleeding, or significant swelling right away by calling the office.
